About us....

The Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway has had a good year in 2006 with an inceasing of passenger numbers,  but from our aspect the fourth transport rally held over the weekend of  the autumn Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday was by far the biggest event held to date.

This wonderful weekend event attracted over 800 passengers for the railway  which was about 20% of the total passenger numbers for 2005 thus supporting the need for a road transport museum centre in South Wales.

The friendly and informal approach to the event by the organisers paid dividends with over 150 entrants this year  and a promise of even more in 2007 !

The Rhymney Valley Transport Preservation Society and its members are pleased to have played their part in the sucess of the day and assure the organises that they will be back in force in 2007.
